Journey to Kuching

The sunlight is shining through the window of my hotel room. I can even feel the heat penetrate through my skin and face but I just keep laying down on the bed letting the sunlight showered all my face while waiting for my lazy mode gone after my 8 hours of beauty sleep because that day is going to be an exciting day where I had planned to travel with my best friend, Ethel. We’re planning to travel around and food hunting at Kuching today.
The journey begins after we had our breakfast at the stall next to our hotel. The sense of famous Laksa Sarawak is so irresistible so we had it for our breakfast. The first place that blurt out of our mind is the Sarawak Cultural Village. It is also one of the most wanted place to visit in our list because we want to know more about the culture that exist in Sarawak and we decided to drive in our rental car so that it will be more easier for us to travel around. The first impression when we had reached there is it looks like a living museum where all the traditional houses of the ethnics in Sarawak are practiced in the Sarawak Cultural Village.
The variety of cultures and ethnics in the living museum had shown us how wonderful is Sarawak. We even get the chance to watch the cultural performance in the main hall. After that, Ethel and I decide to do our own tour around the village because we want to get information by our own efforts so that we can learn more and understand more about the cultures. We also try some of the traditional kuih in every traditional house.
We continue our journey to Cat Museum which is also one of the main attractions in Kuching. It also known as the most favorite place to visit that we see on Trip Adviser before we plan this ‘best friend tour. The statue of cats inside museum is really interesting and some of it looks so real and even when we look at the statue of cats, it’s give the both of us goose bumps like the eyes of the cats are staring at us.
Sweat pours from our body and evaporates in seconds due to the hot weather as we step out of the Cat Museum. The heat causes us to feel thirsty and hungry so both of us decide to do food hunting around Kuching. A few minutes of driving near the town and we decide to try the famous local cuisine which is ayam pansuh and bak kut teh to fulfill our craving for local food.
A while later, our tummy are bloated with delicious food and it give us more excitement to travel around the town and our next target is to hunt for the famous ‘gula apong’ ice cream. A few minutes of driving and 25 minutes of waiting is surely worth because when we get our ice cream, both of us can feel coldness  of the ice cream melt in our mouth with the sweetness o ‘gula apong’ which also known as brown sugar.

A long day of this serendipity journey is surely open up our eyes to see different cultures in the different angle and exploration of our taste bud is achievable. Both of us feel tired but yet enjoy ourselves with a new experience in others people place which have varieties of specialty in the city. The memories both of us travel together as best friend will forever turn my emotionless pout into that same goofy grin.
